The Cottages

at Lower Tideford have been converted to a very high standard from traditional Devon stone barns, combining the original beams, roof trusses and stone walls with warm pine floors (in the Cornworthy and Salcombe), fully fitted carpets, comfortable furnishings, fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms and full oil central heating, all to assure you of a great holiday away from the cares and pressures of everyday life.

You will be refreshed and charmed by the delightful countryside surrounding the cottages and never tire of the countless number of pleasures within easy reach. Small enough to be totally informal, but extremely well equipped with dishwashers, microwaves, radios, colour TV's and VCR's, laundry, comfortable beds with duvets and bed linen, the cottages are ideal for those seeking a comfortable base from which to enjoy all the local amenities. Cots, high chairs and stairgates can be provided.

The Dartmouth (Sleeps 6+1)

The Dartmouth is ideal for the larger family. Spacious and sunny, this cottage is furnished and decorated to a high standard, ensuring a relaxing holiday for all. Large fully fitted dining kitchen. Extremely spacious lounge, a beautiful room, comfortably and stylishly furnished with wood burner, windows to three sides, French doors onto courtyard and views to the south over valley to meadows beyond.

Upstairs to very large master bedroom with double bed and en-suite shower room with WC and hand basin. Lovely views to south and east with sea glimpses. Second large bedroom with 2+1 single beds. Third bunk-bedded room. Bathroom with power shower over, WC, bidet and handbasin.

The Cornworthy (Sleeps 4)

Reverse living accommodation to take advantage of the views. On the ground floor are two spacious bedrooms, one with two singles, one with a double bed, both with windows facing south. Bathroom with power shower over, WC, hand basin.

Upstairs to very attractive open-plan living area, with original exposed trusses spectacularly spanning the roof area and warm pine floor.
Extremely comfortably furnished, fully-fitted kitchen area with fitted oven, hob over with extractor fan, dishwasher, fridge, microwave. Gorgeous views over meadows from large south facing window.

The Salcombe (Sleeps 4+2)

Again reverse living accommodation to take advantage of views. Entrance on ground floor. Large double bedroom with French doors leading to courtyard. Second bedroom with bunk beds. Downstairs bathroom with power shower over, WC and hand basin.

Upstairs to stunning, open-plan living area with original trusses spanning the roof. Comfortably furnished (sofa bed for +2), fully fitted kitchen with fitted oven, hob over with extractor, fridge, dishwasher, microwave. A feature of this fabulous room is the original threshing wheel and axle running the whole breadth of the room. Views to the east and west and French windows leading to your own balcony with original slate steps down to the courtyard.

This cottage has a delightful outside seating area, just the thing to catch the morning sun for that al fresco breakfast.

The Dittisham (Sleeps 4)

Reverse living accommodation with entrance from the west leading to first floor. Extremely spacious open-plan lounge, a welcoming room with beautiful large windows facing west and north, comfortably furnished. A feature of this attractive cottage is the original roof trusses that span the ceiling.

Fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob and extractor over, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and microwave.

Downstairs to the hall, large master bedroom with double bed and French doors to the courtyard. Second bedroom with two single beds. Bathroom with power shower over, WC and hand basin.

Outside, your own seating area with table and chairs to enjoy that glass of wine whilst watching the glorious sunset.

The Tuckenhay (Sleeps 2)

A delightful cosy cottage for two, this beautiful cottage has many lovely features.

A snug open-plan ground floor living room with feature spiral staircase to first floor, comfortably furnished, with a fully fitted kitchen area, this room has the advantage of facing south over courtyard.
A lovely sunny room with original calf-pen doors made into very attractive feature windows with inset details.
Upstairs to attractive bedroom, double bed, window with sunny aspect.
Door leading to en-suite bathroom with electric shower. An excellent holiday hide-away for the discerning couple.

Directions to Lower Tideford Farm Cottages

From the A38 Exeter- Plymouth expressway take the left hand turning to Totnes, A384. After about 5 miles, on reaching the outskirts of the town, turn right at traffic lights onto A381 signed to Dartmouth and Kingsbridge. Continue up the hill, over the traffic lights, past the left turn for Totnes, then take next left, half-way up the hill, signed Cornworthy, Dittisham and Bow Creek. Follow this road for approximately three miles, turn right down narrow lane to Bow Creek and Dittisham. Down the hill then winding your way along the delightful Devon lanes, across Bow Bridge, past the famous Waterman's Arms, along Bow Creek, through picturesque Tuckenhay, past the equally famous Maltster's Arms (which Keith Floyd used to own), over stream, bearing left, keeping on the road signposted Cornworthy. approximately 3/4 mile turn right signed Tideford and Dartmouth. Bear right at small grassy island, and Lower Tideford Farm is the first property on your left approached by its own long drive.
